Using a Flag to Cover a Monument
The U.S. Flag may form a distinctive feature of a ceremony, but it should not be used as a covering for the monument, statue, car, etc. We recommend that you either display the flag in a prominent location (to the right of the speakers) during the ceremony or, if you are having a parade, that the flag be given the position of honor at the head of the procession and carried by a person or mounted on a vehicle. (The Flag may be used to cover a casket -- see Caskets on the menu to the left.) |
